Mastering basic rook endgames
Adrian Mikhalchishin
Review by: jsain
This famous study was composed by Horwitz and published in 1857 in Die Schachzeitung. It's white to play. How would you evaluate the position? Opposite colored bishops are always drawn, right?
Wanna solve more positional problems and get instant feedback just like you would during a lesson with a real chess coach? Continue training!
A very enjoyable and instructive book of endgame studies by Jan Timman. It is accessible to a wide range of players, from improving beginners to advanced level, thanks to the clarity and progressive difficulty of the studies.
I would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys endgames studies !
Got this book last year, after recent sad news about Timman, with huge respect I started to study these endgames. Great book for everyone, five stars!
Great book. RIP Ms. Jan
Offers a collection of endgame studies that provide practical insights for any endgame. This book shows that even what may appear to be the simplest positions contain much more depth and require deep consideration to accurately play.
