Yakov Vilner, First Ukrainian Chess Champion and First USSR Chess Composition Champion: A World Champion's Favorite Composers
Sergei Tkachenko
Review by: jsain
Unfortunately for Caro-Kann players, GM Negi knows his stuff. Against the Karpov, for example, he recommends the best possible setup with Ng5 and Bd3, something I've never gotten a good position against! This game in the Bd3 Karpov, played between Leko and Morozevich in 2009, is a great example of just how venomous the setup is for black. Morozevich struggled! He played the very uncommon 6...e5. I wanted to explore the line myself, but gave up on it after seeing this game. This is the position on move 10 for Leko. Let's take stock. Who is better and why?
Wanna solve more positional problems and get instant feedback just like you would during a lesson with a real chess coach? Continue training!
When this book cam out it was excellent but now a lot of the lines have been neutralised or at least deeply studied
But still a very good book
