This is the round 1 game from the Lasker - Marshall World Championship Match played in the USA in 1907. A very instructive endgame happened early on. This is the position on move 25 for white, Marshall. How would you evaluate this rook and knight verus rook and bishop endgame? Who is better and why?

    This was the first book I ever read, around age 10. It's not a bad book, it covers many important topics for a beginner, like the value of the pieces, or how to deliver basic checkmates.

    I got this book from an uncle, he just happened to have it in his house, but never read it. Nowadays, there are significantly better books that cover similar ground, so I wouldn't recommend it to a chess student, but it's worth recognizing the fact that this was a great book back in the day.
