I had high hopes for this book, which tackles chess from a different perspective than your typical instructional book. Psychology and mindset are an under-appreciated aspect of chess improvement, so most players will gain something of value reading it.

Overall I found some of the advice given in the book fairly obvious. That said, there were some tips such as maintaining a tournament journal that I found practical and helpful. The book is quite short and a very easy read. Since it isn't focused on technical chess instruction, there aren't many diagram or positions to analyze.

I think this is a decent book to read before bed if you're looking to mix up your chess reading a bit, but I would also say that there are other general chess improvement titles that cover some of the same territory and which I would recommend ahead of this.
