Really good strategy book for beginners.

A nice introduction to books such as Silman's "How to Reassess Your Chess" or Hellsten's "Mastering Chess Strategy."

If you're worried it might be a tad bit too difficult for your chess strength, you may read "Winning Chess" by the same author, Yasser Seirawan, as a nice introduction to chess principles.

This is a Great book for basic Strategy, easy to follow and understand great for players between 900 - 1600 rating. I'm so glad New In Chess updated and renewed this series.
